Pour one out for the BMW Z4. The German automaker is finishing production of its beloved convertible. As the roadster says goodbye, BMW will release a very limited Final Edition model based on the Z4 M40i—but its quite expensive. BMW offers the Z4 Final Edition in a single configuration. The only decision a customer needs to make is which transmission they prefer—the eight-speed Steptronic or the six-speed manual. The manual comes with the Edition Handschalter Package, which features unique software settings for the rear dampers, steering, traction control, and M Sport differential. Under the hood, the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine delivers the same 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque as any other M40i. It comes with staggered 19-inch front and 20-inch rear Dual-Spoke Bicolor 800M wheels. BMW has made the remaining decisions. Every Z4 Final Edition comes in the same BMW Individual Frozen Black metallic paint, with the Shadowline Package included as standard. This adds gloss-black trim to the mirror caps, kidney grille, lower air intake, and exhaust tips. The Z4 also has a Moonlight Black soft top and red brake calipers. Inside, the car features red contrast stitching on the instrument panel, center console, floor mats, door panels, and M Sport seats, which are covered in black Vernasca leather and Alcantara. It also reminds you that youre driving the Z4 Final Edition with unique door sill plates. Other standard features include the Driver Assistance Package, a Harman Kardon sound system, and the Premium Package, which adds ambient lighting, a head-up display, and more. BMW will build the Z4 Final Edition from February to April next year in very limited quantities. Regardless of the transmission, each will cost $78,675 (including the $1,175 destination fee). The standard 2026 Z4 M40i starts at $69,575. The automaker doesn’t specify exactly when Z4 production will end. The Toyota Supra, which is essentially the same car with some differences, will end production next March. The Japanese automaker has already announced it will launch a successor, but BMW hasn’t said anything about a fourth-generation Z4.
